Independence Village and StoryPoint exist to create deep, meaningful connections with seniors, their families and the communities they serve. We believe that having a heart and being profitable do not have to be mutually exclusive.
We have an Employee First culture, we focus on creating the absolute best work experience for our employees so they can provide the absolute best experience for you and your loved ones. This has led us through 35 years of growth as a privately held company allowing us to put our employees and customers first, not stakeholders.
Our purpose is to inspire and empower seniors, their families and eachother to shine. Everyday.
Independence Village and StoryPoint residents will be creating their favorite recipes with each community’s Executive Chef for the ultimate bake-off. It doesn’t stop there.
We want to involve our partners, community leaders and all cookie lovers in our journey to find the greatest cookie in the cosmos. Five rounds of events will take place, with each round producing thousands of cookies.
We will use the cookies to send “Random Acts of Cookie” to overseas troops, local police and firefighters, nurses and doctors, as well as many other amazing community members. We are privileged to show appreciation to the community, especially through the talents of the residents we serve.
Cookie Madness is our quest to find the greatest cookie in the cosmos!

First, you will need to review your recipe and make sure it aligns with the cookie criteria. If it does, you may submit your recipe to the Life Enrichment Director or Receptionist. Please submit your recipe by March 8th, 2018.
Cookie Creation will be held during “Bake Week,” March 20th – 22nd. You will schedule a 45-minute cookie creation session with the Executive Chef. The Chef will have all the ingredients & tools needed for your recipe. You will work hand in hand with the chef to create your dough. The dough will then be labeled and frozen. All cookies will be baked by the Chef on the morning of the Cookie Selection Round.
No. We will be distributing the cookies, the Chef must be present when the dough is prepared to ensure safe and sanitary conditions are followed.
Anyone! All staff, residents, family members and guests of the community.
We will be using a bracket inspired system to find the greatest cookie in the cosmos. The bracket is a grid of all the cookies in Cookie Madness and the path they have to follow to The Flour Four & National Cookie Madness Championship.

A big part of Cookie Madness involves sharing cookies with the world. Extra cookies will be packaged and sent to our troops, local police and fire departments, homeless shelters & other great causes.
All bakers will remain anonymous until a winner is determined. There will be no reveal of Baker or Community until the Championship.
Our Chief Cookie Officer, will be happy to have a one on one cookie consult with you. She will tell you if your recipe meets the Cookie Criteria and/or help you recall your recipe.
